Carl Jean Thompson Duncan

Carl Jean Thompson Duncan, 92, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Sunday April 14, 2024. She was born to the late Harry Edward Thompson and Velma Harriett Hollandsworth Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, J. Van “Pete” Duncan; brothers, H.B. Thompson, Jimmie Thompson, and Troy “Mack” Thompson; and sisters, Rhoena T. Harmon, and Judith T. Feazelle.Carl Jean retired from Henry County Public Schools as a Kindergarten teacher. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church for 64 years. Carl Jean and Pete enjoyed taking cruises, bus trips, and bowling in the Henry County Parks and Recreation Senior League.She is survived by her two sons, Van Thompson Duncan (LeAnne), of Greensboro, NC, and Jody Carl Duncan (Tangie) of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Traci Reeves (Nathan) of Stokesdale, NC and Cody Wright of Charlottesville, VA; and great-grandchildren, Knox Reeves, and Nora Reeves.A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Ridgeway, VA. Minister Tim Hunt will be officiating the service.The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Ridgeway Fire Department, P.O.
