Carlen Turbak Eanes

October 3, 1955 - January 19, 2025

Carlen "Carrie" Turbak Eanes, aged 69, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in Goldbond, Virginia. Born on October 3, 1955, in New Jersey, Carrie was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her community, and her faith, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Carrie's early years in New Jersey were filled with the love and guidance of her parents, Alexander and Valerie Turbak Roman, both of whom preceded her in death. After completing her education, she embarked on a fulfilling career with the US Government, where she dutifully served as a Post Master for over 30 years. Her dedication to public service was evident in the meticulous care with which she managed her responsibilities, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community she served.

In her personal life, Carrie's heart was ever full of love for her beloved husband, Bruce Eanes. Together, they built a life rich in shared experiences and mutual support. Carrie's family circle included her caring sisters-in-law, Sharon Boothe (Harvey) and Susan Kelly (Dan). Carrie also cherished her role as a doting aunt to her nieces Stacie Fletcher (Courtney), Jessica Boothe, Megan Kelly, and Brianna Schuster (Ryan). She took immense pride in her great-nephews Chase and Davis Fletcher, and great-niece Sophia Schuster, celebrating each milestone in their lives with enthusiasm and pride, as well as several cousins who will hold her memory dear.

A woman of deep faith, Carrie was a devoted member of the Big Stoney United Methodist Church. Her involvement in church activities was not just a testament to her belief but also a vital part of her social life. She found solace and strength in her faith, which she expressed through her active participation in church events and her daily practices.

Carrie's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. An accomplished baker, she delighted in creating treats that not only satisfied the palate but also warmed the soul. Her baked goods were a staple at family gatherings and church functions, often sparking joy and conversation among those gathered. An avid reader, Carrie always had a book at hand, losing herself in stories that spanned all genres. Her love for old movies was another passion, one that she happily shared with anyone willing to indulge in a classic film with her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Carrieā€™s honor to the Giles County Animal Shelter or to the Big Stoney Creek United Methodist Church Building Fund (3993 Gravely Hill Road Ripplemead, Virginia 24150).

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Eanes family.
