Carmen Tracy Goad

Carmen Tracy Goad, age 85, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, Virginia. He was born on June 11, 1940, to the late Shirley H. Goad and Guida Nester Goad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanely Dale Goad.

Carmen was a humble and hardworking man who spent his life serving his family and community. He attended Harvest Worship Center. Carmen worked for many years as a truck driver with Roy Stone and Bassett Mirror and was also involved in farming. In October of 1987, he began serving with the Patrick Henry Volunteer Fire Department, where he faithfully served his community with dedication and pride serving in many capacities including Chief for four years. He was also with the Henry County Honor Guard.

Carmen cherished his role as a father and grandfather. Carmen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and found joy in simple pleasures such as NASCAR, where he was a fan of the Wood brothers, and was a football lover where he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his former wife, Geneva Kay Goad; his daughter, Tonda Lynn Goad; his son, Delano Goad (Melanie); his grandchildren, Daniel V. Goad and Corey S. Goad; his three great-grandchildren, Skylar Goad, Payton Goad, and Clover Goad; his sister, Melva Nester (Hillis); his brother, Gaylon Goad(Karen); and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Volunteer Fire Department. A graveside service will follow in Dugspur, Virginia at Frederic Nester Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Goad officiating.
