Carol Arnold Glover

October 2, 1934 - February 7, 2026

Carol June Glover, 91, of Roanoke passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1934. Carol dedicated her life to the service of others, a testament to her deep faith and commitment to her community.

After raising a family of nine children, she earned her RN degreee and an associate's degree from Virginia Western Community College at the age of 49 and later achieved a BS in Nursing from Lynchburg College. Carol's educational journey was marked by her relentless pursuit of knowledge and her desire to improve her caregiving skills.

Carol's career as a nurse spanned several decades, with significant contributions at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, VA; Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA from 1983 to 1991; and notably at Good Samaritan Hospice in the Roanoke Valley from 1996 until 2009. Her compassionate care left a lasting impact on many lives.

Carol was a devout member of the Trinity Church of the Brethren (COB) in Troutville, VA and prior to that supported her husband as pastor's wife at Daleville, VA, Midland, VA, Decatur, IL, and Canton, OH COB congregations. Her faith was an integral part of her life deeply influencing her work and personal relationships. In addition to her professiional and spiritual life, Carol was a vibrant participant in the Sweet Adelines and the Roanoke Valley Star City Chorus. She also enjoyed cooking, playing games with her children, and caring for her pets, including a beloved dog inherited from a hospice patient, which sparked her enduring love for dogs.

Carol is survived by her children, Mark, Dale Kevin, Neil, Tina, Dale Howard, Elaine, and Judy. She was preceded in death by her husband Irving, and her children, Gene and Carol Marie.

Carol's life was a profound example of service, love, and dedication, leaving a legacy that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
