Carolyn Meek

Carolyn Meek, 82, of Catawba, Virginia passed away at home with family by her side on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born September 23, 1942 in Quinwood, West Virginia, Carolyn was an Army veteran and an honor graduate of nursing at Leigh Memorial (Norfolk, Virginia) in 1970. She did life-saving work for many years as an RN in various areas of healthcare, including the ICU.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray Meek; daughter Ruth (m. Daniel Pavis); granddaughters Jacqueline (m. David Bosma) and Nicole (m. Michael Hoffman); and three great-grandsons. She is also survived by siblings Bonnie Thomas, Mary Vaughan, Daniel Moore, Molly Cannady, Jeffrey Moore, and Thomas Moore. She is preceded in death by her father Lawson Moore, mother Daisy (Butler) Moore, daughter Charla Kay Kincy, and siblings Trennie Moore, Irvin Moore, Stephen Moore, Colin Moore, Sharon Frazee, and Donald Moore.

Carolyn was an avid student of Scripture, devoted to prayer, and believed in the restorative power of Christ's death and resurrection. Her family and friends take comfort with faith that she is now whole, joyful, and in God’s presence.

A private ceremony at the family burial plot will be held at a future date.
