Catherine "Kitty" Westmoreland

Catherine W. "Kitty" Westmoreland, age 75 of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elane West, and her daughter, Kimberly Roop Clemons.

 

Kitty is survived by her beloved husband Johnny, sister Gale Webb, brother Mike West and wife Vivian, daughter, Kelley Brown and husband David, stepdaughter Tammy Furgurson and husband Mark, stepson John Westmoreland and wife Amanda; grandchildren Carter Williamson and Taylor, Bryce Bessell and Rebecca, Megan Simons and Norman, Chris Hicks and Jerrica; great-grandchildren Evren and Fae Bessell, Laycee and Lily Hicks. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as her own.

 

Kitty loved to travel, and she and Johnny had many wonderful memories of seeing the country over the years.  She had been a member of the American Business Womens Association and was proud of having been a member of the Vinton Women of the Moose for many years and her service as Senior Regent. 

 

Kitty was a true survivor, overcoming serious injuries as a young mother and battling and beating cancer not once, but twice.

There will be a visitation on Friday, January 20 at Simpson Funeral Home at 1:00 pm followed by a service of remembrance at 2:00 pm.
