Catherine Stanley Whitten

Catherine Stanley Whitten, 88, of Madison Heights, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the home of her son, David and daughter-in-law Jeanette. She was the wife of the late William Harrison Whitten.Born June 25, 1936 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Dennis Stanley and Minnie Catherine Jones Woolridge. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lorene Morton. She was retired from Ericsson and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.Mrs. Whitten is survived by her son, David R. Witt and wife Jeanette of Madison Heights; her brother, William Woolridge and wife Diann, also of Madison Heights; three grandchildren, Wendy Henderson and husband John, Cindy Brady, and Stephanie Morris and husband Phillip; nine great grandchildren, Savannah Morris, Alyssa Sheridan, husband Ben, Lauren Goff, husband Dylan, Kristen Brady, Madison Brady, Michael Morris, Owen Brady, Daniel Morris, and Anna Morris and one great-great-grandson, Greyson Blanchard. Catherine was loved by many niece’s and nephew’s, extended family and special friends. In her later years Catherine loved making cards inspired by her BF Sandra Drew and others. Making cards for her family and friends became a love and passion to be cherished forever. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Whitten’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church in Madison Heights, the Rev. Pete Sudlow and Chaplain Eric Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church.
