Charles Chuck Bonds

Charles “Chuck” Bonds, 38, of Springfield, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023. He was born August 23, 1984, in Galax, Virginia, to Frederic “Freddie” Mark Bonds and Connie Sue Linville Bonds.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernie W. Bonds and Gladys Ruth Bonds Chittum; maternal grandparents, Albert Jefferson Linville and Alice Lavinia Ratliff Linville; and cousins, David, Steven, Douglas, Gene, and Stephanie.

Chuck attended Faith Fellowship of Bassett. He was a graduate of Corner Stone Christian Church Academy and Patrick County High School. He had a love for the Lord which was instilled in him by his parents, that was obvious the second you met him. It was apparent that no matter where in this world or what stage of life he was in, he knew what the ultimate goal was and where his final home would be. He loved coming home to visit, but now he’s home to stay. Chuck had a passion for music and an incredible voice. He never met a stranger, never failed to put a smile on your face. He was light in a dark room, his smile was contagious, and he had a heart bigger than his body. He was a good man…a simple man who loved simple pleasures like fishing, cooking out/grilling, and spending time with family and friends. However, his love for his son was anything but simple, it was extraordinary. His son was his world, and he was a wonderful father. He was generous and always trying to build others up, always wanted to leave you better than he found you. #love #ilove #jesuslovesyou

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his handsome son, Canon Mark Bonds; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more beloved family and friends.

The funeral will be Saturday July 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112, with pastor Adam Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Fellowship of Bassett, 1110 Elf Trail, Bassett, Virginia 24055. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
