Charles Edward Manns

Charles Edward Manns, 83, of Bassett, Virgina passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was born on August 5, 1941, to the late William Manns and Catherine Merriman Manns. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ardelia Manns; his son, Corwin D. Manns; and his sister, June Woods.

Charles proudly served in the United States Army and was a former member of the Waterway Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest, spending his time cutting wood, riding four-wheelers, playing pool, working on cars, and being an avid woodman. Charles cherished the company of family and friends and always enjoyed being around good company.

Charles leaves behind his daughter, Angela C. Chapman (James); two sons, Charles C. Manns (Debra) and Arno B. Manns; his brother, William Manns; two sisters, Ida J. Brown (Willis) and Jewell Manns; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will remember him fondly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 2:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Philip Calloway officiating. The burial will be private.
