Charles Lewis Nichols

Charles Lewis Nichols, 87, of Salem went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley Jane Nichols; parents, Doc and Mary Nichols; daughter, Deborah Faye Spencer; daughter-in-law, Marie Annette Nichols; brother, Paul Nichols; and sisters, Ruby Letchford, Helen Hiner, Iva Dudding, Iris Leonard, and Margie Brown.

He is survived by his sons, Steve Nichols (Dawn) and Robert Nichols (Carrie); grandchildren, Steve (Dione), Genie (Jesse), Preston (Jessica), Brandon (Rachel), Charlie (Vanessa), Hannah (Donald), and Ben (Sarah); 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Calvert, Louise Gordon, Kathy Hayslett, and Frannie Radford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Charles and Shirley Nichols will held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00pm at CROSSPOINTE Church, 201 Burnt Chimney Rd. Wirtz, VA 24184.  A reception catered by church members will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to Feeding Southwest Virginia.
