Charles Richard Hall

Charles Richard Hall, 90, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 13, 1935, in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late Wayne Hall and Kate Wagoner Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Chatham Hall; brother, Roy Jay Hall; and sister, Betty Hall Greer.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a maintenance worker from Dupont and was a devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for more than 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, watching his birds, fishing, golfing, and working on puzzles and crossword puzzles. He also cherished reading his Bible and studying his weekly Sunday School lessons.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Richard Kenneth Hall (Karen); granddaughter, Alison Hall Branson (William); great-granddaughter, Violet Bea Branson; sister, Shirley Johnson; along with extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Doug Ramsey, officiating.
