Charlie Vaden Mahan

Charlie Vaden Mahan, 77, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. He was born on March 16, 1947 in Danville, VA to the late Edna Elizabeth Adkins Mahan and the late Leslie Gold Mahan. He is survived by his wife of many years, Mrs. Shirley Smith Mahan.

Charlie was of the Baptist Faith, and a faithful member of Greenpond Baptist Church. He worked for many years for Burlington Industries, previous to his retirement.

In addition to his wife Shirley, Charlie is survived by a son; Anthony Mahan and wife Adrienne of Chatham, VA; a sister; Judy Stickel and husband Don of Chatham, VA; a granddaughter; Josie; and numerous nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his Mother and Father, Charlie was predeceased by a brother; Wayne Mahan and sister in law Judy.

The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Danville/Pittsylvania County Cancer Association at 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2:00p.m., at Greenpond Baptist Church, 7176 Anderson Mill Road, Chatham, VA 24531, with Pastor R.G. Rowland officiating.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 1-2:00p.m., also at Greenpond Baptist Church. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence. The interment will be held following the service at the church cemetery.
