Charlotte Clowser Driver Obituary Charlotte Clowser Driver, 89, of Salem, Virginia, but formerly of Winchester, Virginia, was reunited with her late husband, Bradley Bayliss Driver, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Born on September 15, 1934, to the late Amiel Lee and Osa Bayliss Clowser, she is also preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Driver. Charlotte and her husband moved to Salem in 2017, after nearly a lifetime together in Winchester; however, she never met a stranger in her life and enjoyed her “breakfast club” at McDonalds. Every day, she and her little Shih Tzu, Itsey, walked the Lowe’s store in Salem together, greeting and conversing with all who approached. She enjoyed gardening and grew both beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables which she graciously shared. Charlotte’s thriving backyard garden drew beautiful birds and wildlife; she especially loved the hummingbirds, blue birds, and watching deer. She was drawn to the picturesque nature found along Skyline Drive and she and Bradley enjoyed looking for wildlife and watching the seasons change during their many drives. An accomplished baker, her cakes, pies, especially her fresh apple pies, and rolls, were adored by her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church in Winchester and served in the Telephone Pioneers of America. Charlotte looked forward to serving as a polling volunteer, community spirit, and connecting with neighbors during each election. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Diron Bayliss Driver and wife, Amy; grandsons, Aiden Bayliss Driver and Liam Michael Driver, as well as her adored canine companion, Itsey.A memorial service may be held on a later date in her hometown, Winchester.
