Cheri Lynn Laufer

Cheri Lynn Laufer, age 45 of Ferrum, fell asleep in death unexpectedly, November 11, 2022, in her home. She was born August 21, 1977 in Southfield, Michigan. The daughter of Jim F. and Beverly Moss. Cheri was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed camping, hiking, and anything involving being in nature. She felt that life itself was an ongoing education and continued learning different things throughout her life. She always dreamed of having children, but never thought it was possible, so she enjoyed her many pets and treated anyone who needed it as her own. Specifically, when she raised her "by blood niece, by choice daughter" Jenifer. In 2010 at age 33, her dream came true and she born a son, Austin. Austin was the light of her life and her entire world. She made room for others, but lived and breathed for him. Cheri is survived by her parents, Jim and Beverly Moss; her son, Austin B. Laufer and his father and sister Christopher and Kristin; daughter, Jenifer L. Foreman and her husband Jonathan; two grandchildren, Azaria and Josephine Foreman; sister, Tammy Moss; brother, Steve Moss and his wife Alyssa; nieces and nephews, Logan and Kiernan Moss, Lauryn Bergstrom, and Izaiah Crain; very special mention of her dear friend, David Hagerman and his four children who called her Mom, Abbey, Sarai, Alex and Michael. Throughout her adult life she had many children who called her Mom. Services are being planned for a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
