Christel Helga Donaldson

Christel Helga Donaldson, 88, entered her eternal rest Sunday, August 3, 2025. She was born November 12, 1936, in Berlin, Germany, to the late Horst Harre and Erika Tober Harre.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by son, John William Donaldson; brother, Peter Harre; fur baby, Shelly.

Christel was married to the love of her life, Ronald Mack Donaldson for sixty-five years. She was of the Baptist faith and dedicated forty years of sevice to Fieldcrest Mills as an inspector. Christel took pride in keeping things neat and tidy, she loved working in her yard tending to her flowers, and had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies. She enjoyed spending quality time with her husband and always stayed active and busy. Christel will be remembered for her warm and good-hearted nature, which touched the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronald Mack Donaldson, daughters, Birgit Nelson (Johnny), Jeanette Griggs (Mike); sister, Hilda Werner; grandchildren, Melissa Harper (Louis), Kevin Nelson (Chrissy), Danny Ray Griggs, Jr., Matthew Griggs (Billie), Kayla Chaudhry (Mani), Erika Polzella (Joseph), Kristin Moyer (Brandon), Casey Donaldson, Jacob Donaldson; great-grandchildren, Bryson Moyer, Noah Harper, Sean Harper, Lorna Harper, Nathan Nelson, Alora Nelson, Rowen Griggs, Ali Chaudhry, Isa Chaudhry, Zayan Chaudhry, Ari Polzella, Sammy Polzella, Peter Polzella, Zachy Polzella, Johnny Polzella, Jacob Polzella; and her fur baby Princess.

A private graveside service will be held.
