Christopher Shawn Rice

Christopher Shawn Rice, 54, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Christopher was born in Pelham, NC on October 31, 1971 to the late Margaret Annie Mae Goodson Rice and the late Horace Madison Rice.

Christopher was of the Christian Faith. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Christopher is survived by two daughters; Samantha Blackwell (Casey Jones) of Sutherlin, VA and Loree Kraft of Blairs, VA; a son; Patrick Kraft (Kera Ours) of Blairs, VA; two brothers; Jeffrey Scott Rice and Donnie Bray; a sister; Kathy Ann Bray; two grandchildren; Leliana and Luna, four nephews; Thomas Scott Rice, Brian Rice (Jonathan), D.J. Bray (Jessica) and Patrick Bray (Katlyn); a niece; Amy McMars (Jake); and adoptive family; Brandy Newton, Eva Hankins, Mike Davis, and Asia Buntin.

In addition to his parents, Christopher was predeceased by a brother; Micheal Wayne Rice.

A visitation will be held to celebrate Christophers life on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 12:00 noon until 6:00pm, at Stateline Baptist Church, 651 Holland Road, Danville, VA 24541.
