Claire Elizabeth Reynolds
On July 27, 2025 Claire Elizabeth Reynolds, 102, of Callands, VA departed this Earthly life for her Heavenly home. She was born on March 31, 1923 in the Rondo Community to Charlie Ward Reynolds and Macy McNeely Reynolds. She is survived by a son, Carl S. Reynolds (Kathy), two grandchildren, Sherry Moschler (Paul) and Michael Reynolds (Lisa), four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Page (Devin), Luke Moschler, Jackson Reynolds, and Emma Reynolds, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Claire was predeceased by her husband, Jack Reynolds, sisters, Lottie Reynolds, Nannie Wade Reynolds (Fred), J’nell Oakes (Wyatt), Aileen Chappel (Gene), Keren Smith (Lester), and Virginia Reynolds, brothers Spruce Reynolds (Nilla), Dillard Reynolds (Mamie), Joe Reynolds (Jesse) and Marshal Reynolds (Betty).
Claire will be remembered for her unwavering faith and love for the Lord, her willingness to help others, a strong work ethic, and the positive influence she had on all those she came in contact with. She was especially well known for her fried apple pies and is, today, probably teaching St. Peter how to make them from “scratch”. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. Lord knows she has “earned her wings”!!
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Ann Matthews and Hope Breedlove, two “angels from Heaven” who helped care for her the last several years. Also, thanks to the wonderful folks at Roman Eagle Health and Rehab for their fine assistance the last few months. God bless you all!!!!
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Callands Fire and Rescue (that fine organization of volunteers which has served, so faithfully, the community she loved), or just give to someone in need.
A graveside service will be held at the Reynolds Family Cemetery, 499 Triangle School Road, Chatham, VA 24531, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., officiated by John Breedlove and Kevin Barbour. While a formal visitation is not planned, the family will be at the home of Sherry and Paul Moschler, 1426 Barn Road, Callands, VA 24530, to receive friends.
Norris Funeral Services, Chatham Chapel is serving the family.
