Clarence Lovejoy
Clarence Lovejoy, Jr., age 72 of Danville, Virginia peacefully passed away at his home on June 23, 2025. Born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1952 to Mary L. Bingham and Clarence Lovejoy, Sr. He was a devoted and loving father to his six children, who deeply miss him and the invaluable life lessons he shared. Among those lessons were the importance of hard work and loving others.
His greatest passion was teaching others about God, Jehovah. Clarence will be remembered for his engaging talks, and resonant voice. His charismatic nature and gift for conversation earned him the affectionate nickname “Trouble” among his friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Mary L. Bingham and Clarence Lovejoy, Sr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Tresa Lovejoy; his ex-spouse, Peggy Marie Tucker; his children, Darian, Craig (Rosa), Dawn, Eion, Micah, and Kyle Lovejoy. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Frank, Carolyn (William) Lovejoy-Harris, David, Mary Lovejoy, and Archie Williams, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 118 Jenny Lane, Danville, Virginia 24541.
