Clifton Frye Harris

Clifton Frye Harris (Cliff) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 16, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Kenneth and Helen Harris of Daleville, his sister, Gladys Harris Hughston of Wake Forest, NC.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 58 years, Lynne, his son, Christopher and wife Robin, his two granddaughters, Madison and Jordyn. His brother, Warren and wife Marty of Ellenton, Florida; his sister, Carolyn Harris McDaniel of Roanoke and his brother Robert Harris of Roanoke. Brother-in-law, Jerry Hughston of Wake Forest, NC, sister-in-law Susan Bennett and husband Mike of Hardy, his sister-in-law Sandra Gale of Roanoke, Keith Fennell of Daleville, several nieces and nephews, his God son Rodney Thacker of Buchanan and his friend Dennis Walls of Troutville. 

Cliff retired from Norfolk Southern after 33 years of service when he was only 53. He spent the next 25 years restoring vintage cars and golfing at Ashley Plantation Golf Course where he made several holes in one.

Cliff asked to be remembered on the last hole of Ashley Plantation Golf Course making that final putt and at his request, no service will be held.
