Clifton Rogers Gammon
Clifton R. Gammon, 87, of Danville, VA passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Gammon was born May 13, 1936, in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Norman Oakes Gammon and the late Mildred Moss Gammon.
Mr. Gammon was a gentle and loving husband and provider, a faithful Christian servant, and a true gentleman who led by quiet example. Clifton was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, where he was a former president of the Fisherman’s Club. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 31 years of service and he was a member of the Goodyear Top 10 club. He will be remembered, loved, and cherished by family and the many who were blessed to know him.
Mr. Gammon is survived by his wife, Sandra Burnette Gammon; daughters, Karen Farzin (Reza), and Jennifer Brown; son, Tim Gammon (Teresa); grandchildren, Katie Pezant (Michael), Matthew Farzin (Heather), Clay Brown (Rachel), Emily Brown, Joshua Gammon (Stephanie), Jason Gammon, and Tyler Gammon; great-grandchildren, Madison Gammon, Mackenzie Gammon, Alyssa Gammon, Davis Pezant, Brooke Pezant, Benjamin Farzin, Jack Farzin, Lucas Farzin, and Addison Farzin; and brother, John Gammon (Brenda).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Lois Sherrill, Mary Nell Hanks, Joyce Holt, Vickie Cassell, Faye Gammon, and Kaye Gammon; and brothers, Frank Gammon, Carl Gammon, Phil Gammon, Andrew Gammon, Danny Gammon, and Samuel Gammon.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 with Pastor Matthew Pacifico and Jason Austin officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
