Clinton McDonald

August 24, 1931 - November 6, 2024

Clinton Luray “Cuzz” McDonald, age 93, of Pig Run Road, Millboro, Virginia died Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.

He was born August 24, 1931 in Fluvanna, Virginia to the late Earnest Connor McDonald and Lucille Viola Devincent McDonald. In his younger years he was the Executive Secretary for the D.C. Board of Appeals and Review, owned and operated his own ABC store and had a commercial business in the D.C. Farmers Market as a meat butcher. During his retirement, he was the founder of Pig Run Hunt Club and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed NASCAR, especially the Daytona 500. Clinton served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory McDonald; three brothers, Raymond McDonald, Jimmy McDonald and Brent McDonald; a sister, Mary Chiasson; and grandson, Bryan McDonald

He is survived by his partner, Dorothy Lee Sampson; four daughters, Melissa, Deborah McDonald, Sandra McDonald and Lynda McDonald; two sons, Christopher Sampson, Robert “Bobby” McDonald and wife, Sandy; seven grandchildren, Margaret, Melissa, Rocky, Donald, Cane and Daniel; great-grandchildren, William, Tyler, Weston, Allison, Owen Joseph, and Samantha; four great-great grandchildren, Amir, Colin, Colby, and Bryan, Jr.; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Terry Sutherland and Melvin Beckelheimer.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home. Following the service, his body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
