Connie Mae Wells Dockery Hardy

Connie Mae Wells Dockery Hardy, 69, passed away on February 9, 2026 at her residence, after 10 years of declining health. Connie was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 11, 1956 to the late Mary Elizabeth Oakes Wells and the late James Alvin Wells Sr.

Connie was of the Christian Faith. She worked for many years at Katie’s Grill and Grocery.

Connie is survived by a son; Brian Wayne Dockery of Danville, VA; two brothers; Jimmy Wells and wife Anita of Dry Fork, VA and Bobby Darrell Wells of Dry Fork, VA; a sister; Lorraine Holley of Dry Fork, VA; a granddaughter; Grace Dockery; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by a brother; Melvin Wells.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers; Christy and Kim.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 16300 Mount Cross Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00pm at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 16300 Mount Cross Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549 with Pastor Mike Hearp officiating.
