Constance Taylor Gibson
Connie Taylor Gibson, 75, of Salem, Va., was welcomed into her heavenly home on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
She was born on November 29, 1946, in Roanoke, Va., to the late Estle A. “Red” Taylor and Winona F. Taylor. The oldest of seven siblings, Connie was a caretaker from the start, helping to raise her younger siblings. She went on to marry the love of her life, Jerry, and began a family of her own, raising four daughters. She loved being a grandmother to her eight grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her home was always a welcoming space and holidays were often hosted at her house for many years. Cooking, sewing, and traveling to the beach were some of her favorite things to do. Her grandchildren always looked forward to homemade meals she pulled together effortlessly. Time spent with her will be greatly missed, but she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Gibson; daughter, Anita K. Dooley; brother, Sherman Edward “Eddie” Taylor; sister, Stephanie D. Underwood; and brother-in-law, Timmy Underwood.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer L. Gibson, Elissa G. Anderson and husband, Rick, and Nikki G. Trimmer and husband, Josh; son-in-law, Allen G. Dooley; sisters, Belinda T. Carroll and husband, Kenny, Cynthia (Cindy) T. Sowers and husband, Todd, and Reva D. Taylor; brother, Barry D. Taylor and wife, Angela; granddaughters, Micaela A. Alabran and husband, Jonathan, Arianna Dooley, Noel Gibson, Temple Anderson, and Jewels Anderson; grandsons, Samuel Dooley and Corbin Trimmer; great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Dooley; and many nieces and nephews.
