Cory Octomedious Walton

Cory Octomedious Walton, 51, of Cincinnati, Ohio transitioned to his heavenly home Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was born November 17, 1973, in Martinsville, Virginia to Carla Williams Walton and the late Benjamin Walton.

Cory was a man of deep faith, having been baptized in the Baptist tradition at New Light Baptist Church in Ridgeway, Virginia. He was a proud graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1991, Cory continued his education at Norfolk State University for three years, embodying a thirst for knowledge and personal growth. As the owner and operator of Cory’s Flooring, Cory built a reputation as a hardworking and trusted professional.

Cory was loved by everyone who knew him. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering support for others were hallmarks of his character. Always putting the needs of others before his own, he had a smile and voice that could brighten even the darkest of days. His positivity and spirit were contagious, and his quick wit and sense of humor often brought joy to those around him. Above all, Cory’s love for his mother was immeasurable; she held a special place in his heart.

A passionate traveler, Cory never stayed in one place for long, constantly seeking new experiences and adventures. His zest for life and his genuine care for others made him a beacon of positivity and light in the lives of all who knew him. Cory will be remembered for his boundless energy, his laughter, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Atrayal Walton; sister, Chiquita Walton Martin (Elliot); brother, Troy Brandon (Phnesisa); grandson, Auryn G. Walton; numerous extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church East Martinsville, 1043 East Church Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112. A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. Family and friends may also visit daily from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at his mother’s home, 137 Spring Garden Lane Bassett, Virginia 24055
