Curtis Abram Jackson

December 3, 1970 - August 1, 2024

Curtis Abram Jackson, known affectionately as Curtis to his friends and family, left this world on August 1, 2024, at the age of 53, in his hometown of Roanoke, VA. Born on December 3, 1970, to James R. Jackson, Jr., and Martha A. Jackson, Curtis was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Shawsville High School, Curtis dedicated 35 years of service as the lead frozen food clerk at Kroger. His unwavering commitment to his work was matched only by the warmth and friendliness he extended to both colleagues and customers alike. Curtis's professional life was characterized by the same thoughtful care he showed in every aspect of his life, making him a beloved figure not only at his workplace but throughout the community.

Curtis had a passion for cars, and he spent countless hours working on his favorite, the Nissan Z. His mechanical skills were self-taught and reflected his meticulous and patient nature. Friends and family often sought his expertise, and he was always more than happy to lend a hand or share his knowledge. His love for automobiles was more than a hobby; it was a canvas for his creativity and a conduit for the bonds he built with those around him.

Another of Curtis's joys was visiting theme parks with his friends, who were much like a second family to him. Aaron, Lauren, and Lilly, among others, shared many thrilling rides and laughter-filled days with Curtis. These moments of pure fun and adventure were cherished memories that his friends will hold dear forever.

Curtis is survived by his parents, James R. Jackson, Jr., and Martha A. Jackson; brothers, Eric Jackson and his wife, Rhonda, and James Jackson, III. Curtis was also a doting uncle to his nephew, Aaron Jackson and wife, Sarah, and he filled their lives with the same love and kindness that he shared with all.

Those who knew Curtis would agree that the words loving, kind, and thoughtful were not just descriptors but truly embodied who he was. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched numerous lives, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy to many. Curtis's ability to listen and his readiness to help, whether with a complex car repair or a simple word of encouragement, made him a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Curtis's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the impact of a kind soul on the world. His legacy will continue in the stories shared by friends, the laughter in the halls of Kroger, and the engines that roar to life under the hoods of the cars he loved so much.

As the sun sets on Curtis's earthly journey, we are reminded of the light he brought into the world and the warmth he left in our hearts. Curtis Abram Jackson will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on through the love he gave and the lives he touched.
