Curtis Eugene Turner

Curtis Eugene Turner, 91, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Sovah Health- Martinsville. He was born on October 23, 1932, to the late E. G. Turner and Myrtle Shelton Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dalia J. Turner; a brother, Henry Turner; and two sisters, Jean A. Watson, and Louise McAlexander.

He was part owner of Turner’s Shoe Shop. He also served his country well by serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son, Wally Turner (Kim); daughter, Lisa Maria Turner Edwards; five grandchildren, Ally, Brandon, Chris, Dakota, and John Boy; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Leon Turner; special friend Glenn Clark; all his feline buddies and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 3:00 PM at The Turner family cemetery with Pastor Donald Kendrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any veteran organizations.
