Curtis Franklin Critzer

Curtis Franklin Critzer, 89, of Roanoke, went to be with Jesus, Thursday, March 19, 2026. Curtis is survived by Jacqueline Critzer, loving mother of their children; daughters, Shereen C. Merricks, Cynthia C. Verhoven (Peter), Denise C. Schuh; grandchildren, Jessica Merricks, Bradley Merricks, Chandler Craighead (Drew), Pearson Verhoven (Amanda), Matthew “Jake” Schuh; great-grandchildren, Noah Wynter Merricks, Henry Craighead, and Hudson Craighead; sister, LaVerne McCauley; beloved dog, Shuga; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Carilion Hospice and the VA Hospital for the care they gave Curtis.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11 am at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Dr. Russ Merritt officiating. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. (540)366-0707.
