Curtis Franklin Waid

Curtis Franklin Waid, age 91 of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Waid; and daughter, Brenda Hedrick. Surviving are his children, Goldie and Gary Brown, Sharon Faye Greer, David Franklin Waid and Melissa, and Lisa Diane Waid and Lisa Persinger; grandchildren, Penny and Roger Robertson, David and Megan Hodges, Michaela Brown, Kristi Meeks, Carrie and Bud Foster, Tara Meeks, Brooke Brown, Tina Hedrick, Montana and Jordan Richards; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to all the grandchildren for their love and care. Curtis was a retired employee of Lane Furniture Company. He loved attending church and NASCAR. He dearly loved all of his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 with Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges-Waid Family Cemetery (Ruritan Road). His family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
