Curtis Moir Hiatt

Curtis Moir Hiatt, Jr., 67, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was born February 13, 1957, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Curtis Moir Hiatt, Sr. and Hyacinth Fontenot Hiatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Larry Daniel Hankins; and sister, Nancy Norman Beckett.

Curtis proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed building things and fixing things around the house, reading, cooking, and most importantly, eating. He loved animals, NASCAR, and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Hiatt; daughter, Kimberly Marie Whitlock; sister, Katherine Hiatt (Greg Kelly); granddaughter, Kayla Faye Whitlock; and stepmother, Shirley Hiatt.

The funeral will be Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend A.C. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
