Curtis Wayne Griffin

Curtis Wayne Griffin, Sr., of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose love for his family was the center of his life.

Curtis was preceded in death by his loving parents, Curtis Lee Griffin and Viola Griffin, and his brother, Hurbert Griffin.

He leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply, including his daughter, Patricia Branch (Mike); his sons, Curtis Wayne Griffin, Jr. and Danny Wayne Griffin; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers, Cecil Griffin (Julie) and Ted Griffin (Teri); and his sisters, Grace Gilley (Benny), Linda Bryant, and Carolyn Joyce Manning. Curtis will also be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

Those who knew Curtis will remember his kindness, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel.
