Cynthia Humphries Stinson

Cynthia Humphries Stinson, 72, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was the wife of the late Stephen L. Stinson.Born August 13, 1952 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Archie E. Humphries and Vernell Sprouse Humphries. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy E. Humphries and sister, Chancer Humphries Jamison.Cynthia was retired from Central Virginia Training Center and was a member of Elon Baptist Church. She loved her cats, gardening and rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her daughter Tammy Stinson Cordani, and her son, Dustin Stinson; granddaughter Emily Cordani, grandson Adam Stinson; sisters Brenda Staton (Clayton) and Darlene Humphries, all of Madison Heights; her brother in law Barry Jamison of Roanoke; sister in law Joyce Stinson of Lynchburg; a special niece and caregiver, Wanda Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Wendy and Keith Kirkland and Billy Irvin.A special thank you to Crystal, Amber, Michelle, Lauren, Patty and Sheri with Centra Hospice.A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at Whitten Monelison Chapel, officiated by Pastor Cody Bingham. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 5-7:00pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel.Those wishing to send memorial contributions are asked to consider Elon Baptist Church.
