Cynthia Jo Barber Chaney

Mrs. Cynthia Jo Barber Chaney, age 67, of Lowgap, passed away Friday evening, September 13, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Chaney was born in Forsyth County, September 16, 1956, to the late Ralph Barber and Thelma Snow Barber. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Mrs. Chaney was retired from Cross Creek Apparel as a Quality Control Inspector after 28 years of service. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Monroe Chaney of the home; sons and their partners, Charlie M. Chaney, Jr. and Deborah Hawks, Wesley A. Chaney and Christi Ridout; grandchildren and spouse, Payton M. Chaney, Sarah Evans and Austin, Olivia Pearl Chaney; great grandchild, Presley Ray Evans; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Reece and Jimmy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest Snow and Pearl; infant brother, Edward Ralph Barber. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy at 11:00 AM, with family friend Linda Sotak officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 17, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Chaney family.
