Daniel Buford Young

Daniel Buford Young, 89, of Bassett, Virgnia, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was born September 29, 1934, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Buford Madison Young and Velma Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Betty Mae Luke Young.

Daniel attended Stanleytown's Amazing Grace Baptist Church. He worked as a park ranger and was employed by the National Park Service. He was a gifted craftsman who accelerated in electrical, plumbing, and construction. He loved participating in Civil War Reenactments where he served as a blacksmith; a love he had for more than 40 years.

He is survived by several cousins and other extended family; and special friends, Jeff Wallace, and Robin Dalton (Joe).

The funeral will be Monday, February 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
