Darrell Wayne Brubaker

Darrell Wayne Brubaker, 70, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in Roanoke, Virginia. Darrell was a loving son, brother, uncle, and kind, caring friend. He was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren, played sports and graduated from Franklin County High School, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a degree in communications. He achieved the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout Award and was an avid sports’ fan for the Kentucky Wildcats and Virginia Tech Hokies. He previously worked for Standard Register, Schwan’s Home Delivery, and Franklin County Public Schools. He also volunteered with World Hunger Auction. He was preceded in death by his father, R. Emory Brubaker, and is survived by his mother, Zelda H. Brubaker; brother, Stephen E. Brubaker (Jackie); sister, Lori B. Law (Gary); nieces and nephews, Keely L. Colvin (Derin), Parker S. Law (Ashley), Ashley B. Grice (Josh), Riley S. Brubaker (Kaitlin), and Tyler H. Brubaker (Kristen); great nieces and great nephews, Jagger Colvin, Crew Colvin, Lucy Law, Lincoln Law, Emory Grice, Ida Grice, Nora Brubaker, Emma Brubaker, Meredith Brubaker, and special cousin Judy Irvin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Hunger Auction, 2996 Callaway Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. A memorial service will be held on a later date.
