David Allen Aistrop

July 21, 1952 - March 24, 2025

David Allen Aistrop, a devoted son, brother, and cherished member of the Pembroke community, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Pembroke, VA. Born on July 21, 1952, in Pearisburg, VA, David's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

David's early years were spent in the scenic landscape of Pearisburg, where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. His commitment to service was evident from a young age, and this dedication led him to serve his country in the United States Navy. After his military service, David found a new way to contribute to his community through his work as a custodian at Virginia Tech, where he was a familiar and friendly face to many.

Family was the cornerstone of David's life. He is survived by his loving brothers, Jeff Aistrop and Timothy Meadows, and his caring sister, Rebecca Meredith (Gary). David also leaves behind his fond aunts, Linda Myers and Alice Hylton, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his presence dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Aistrop and Mary Meadows Aistrop, his grandparents, Sam and Healen Meadows, and his aunts, Martha Merix and Nancy Stone. Each family member played a significant role in David's life, shaping the man he became.

Known for his selflessness, David spent his entire life as the primary caregiver for his mother, ensuring her comfort and happiness until her passing. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his actions served as a beacon of love and responsibility to those around him. An adventurous spirit, David relished the opportunity to travel and visit with family whenever he could. Building decks with his brother became not just a pastime but a testament to their brotherhood and David's skill with his hands. David's love for the outdoors was most evident in his attachment to the family cabin—a sanctuary where he could indulge in his passion for fishing and enjoy the serene beauty of nature. Never one to miss a chance at fortune, David enjoyed playing the lottery.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home.
