David Allen Mayberry

David Allen Mayberry Sr., of Amherst, Virginia passed away on January 6, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. David was born on December 23, 1963 to the late Jack Allen Mayberry and Ruth Arlene Mayberry. 

He was married to the love of his life, Dana T. Martin Mayberry. David owned a roofing and chimney sweep business. He loved to fish, hunt and tend to his garden. He was a “Jack of all trades” who built his own home and loved working on muscle cars, especially his 1967 Camaro. He was also a devoted member at Solid Rock Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Steve Wade Mayberry; brother-in-law Roger Lee Peters (Tammy); and niece, Amanda Dawn Mayberry. He is survived by his loving wife, Dana Mayberry; Son, David Allen Mayberry Jr.(Sarah); Sister, Tammy Rene Peters(Roger); nephews, James Allen Falls, Jermey Lawerance Falls, and Jeffery Scott Mayberry; and niece, Chelsey Grace Mayberry and close family friend Phillip Stone (Ashley). 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at Driskill Funeral Chapel from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Services will be held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at Solid Rock Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with burial at Meade cemetery to follow. Pastor Candace Phelps will be officiating.
