David Corville Richardson

David Corville Richardson, 83, of Ringgold, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. He was born on February 13, 1942, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late John Rufus Richardson and Annie Sue Richardson.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around faith, family, and hard work. He was married to the love of his life, Jeanette Marie Richardson, with whom he shared many cherished years together.

He is survived by his two daughters, Annette Cornell and Jeanette Campbell (Randy). David was an incredibly proud grandfather to Brandy Blackstock (Ron), Mark Bowles (Maria), Brandon Bowles (Sarah), and Tiffany Whitney (Blake). His greatest joy was his role as “Papaw” to his treasured great-grandchildren: Emily, Christian, Erin, Abigail, Logan, Blakely, Lincoln, and Landon, whom he lovingly referred to as his prize possessions.

After retiring, David enjoyed traveling with his wife Marie, spending countless hours building and working in his shop, and most of all, bragging about his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to anyone who would listen. His pride in his family knew no bounds, and his stories and laughter will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home, West End Chapel, in Danville, Virginia. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with burial immediately following at Danville Memorial Gardens.

The family will welcome relatives and friends before and after services at the home of his daughter, Jeanette Campbell.

David’s legacy of love, dedication, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
