David Joel Lawson

David Joel Lawson, 76, of Collinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Virgle Lawson and Carrie Martin Lawson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Motes Lawson; his daughter, Jeannie Lawson; his son, David Dwayne Lawson; sisters, Alice Joyce, Barbara Guilliams, Betty Davis, and Peggy Lawson; brothers, Paul Lawson, Dewey Lawson, and Claude Lawson.

David served our country in the United Staes Army 82nd Airborne, worked at Wal-Mart, and was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church in Patrick County, Virginia. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and loved the mountains.

David is survived by his daughter, Tina Lawson; sister, Joy Gammons; brother, Nash Lawson; and several grandchildren.

Services will be private.
