David Leslie Wallace

David Leslie Wallace "Wally", age 64, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at SOVAH Health in Martinsville, Virginia. He was born on December 15, 1960 to Virginia Flanagan Wallace and the late John Lanier Wallace.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his son, Dustin Turner Wallace.

David is survived by his mother, Virginia Flanagan Wallace, a brother, Barry L. Wallace (Anita), his special friend, Amber Ashby, nephew, McKenley Wallace of Reidsville, North Carolina, and a special cousin, Beth Flanagan of Arlington, Virginia.

David worked for the Martinsville Police Department from March 1982 until December 1993, and later transferred to the Martinsville City Sheriff Department until retirement on December 31, 2011. He later worked for attorney Matt Clark.

David was an avid North Carolina Tarheels and Raiders fan. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially driver Carl Edwards, enjoying concerts and music festivals, especially the Rooster Walk.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Henry County SPCA; 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112, or the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church; 824 Starling Avenue Martinsville, Virginia, 24112.

The family will receive friends on March 15, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with A Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 pm at the church
