David Perkins

David Perkins, age 78, of Axton, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Perkins was born on February 23, 1947, in Danville, Virginia to the late Marjorie Evans Perkins and Cecil Morton Perkins.

Mr. Perkins had many passions in life. He loved fishing, hunting, horseshoes, was a major Redskins fan, and was a fan of wrestling as well.

Mr. Perkins was also a proud veteran for our United States Navy.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Jane Perkins; sons, Cecil Perkins and Kelly Haley (Amanda Wagner); daughters, Laura Haley, Angie Schmidt (Robert), Chrystal Avila; sisters, Elsie Bernabe (Al), Louise Walters; grandchildren, Jasmine “Tata” Haley, Zachariah Haley, Benjamin “Benji” Haley, Haley Schmidt, Brooklyn Schmidt, Aubrey Rose Schmidt, and Damien Smart.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Celia Wheeler (Joe) and Natividad Vaziquez “Chico”.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services West End Chapel with Pastor Gary Shupe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
