David Ray Hudgins

January 28, 1964 - January 18, 2025

David Ray Hudgins, age 60, of Ringgold, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia. Mr. Hudgins was born January 28, 1964, in Danville to Elsie Woodall Hudgins and the late Kenneth Ray Hudgins. He was married to Angela Eastridge Hudgins, who survives, of the residence.

Mr. Hudgins was a faithful member of The Tabernacle of Danville. He attended Danville Community College and worked as a mechanic for Goodyear Tire & Rubber of Danville. In his free time, he loved hiking in the mountains, geocaching, fishing, and metal detecting. But above all, David was a man devoted to his family – to his wife, children, grandchildren, mother, sister, cousins and nephews. He loved, and was loved, by his mother, and everyone knew that he was β€œher boy!”.

In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Hudgins is survived by three daughters, Brandi Richardson (Brandon) of Sutherlin, Megan Barker of Ringgold, and Rebecca McDaniel (Bradley) of Charlottesville, VA. He is also survived by a son, Alex Hudgins of Callands, VA, a sister, Tracy Weaver of Danville and seven grandchildren, Lilly Hudgins, Abbey Geistel, Katie Geistel, B.J. Richardson, Thomas Hudgins, Kaleb Williams, and Alexander Barker. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous cousins and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a daughter, Kasie Williams.

To honor the life of Mr. Hudgins, a funeral service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, West End Chapel with Pastor Danny Campbell officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation of friends will be held one hour prior to the funeral, also at Norris West End Chapel, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence.
