David Robert Brown

David Robert Brown, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday November 2, 2023.

David was a lifelong Salem resident, graduating from Salem High School and remaining in the area for his adult life.  David was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Cletis Brown, Sr., and Delena Ina White Brown. He is survived by his brothers, Emory “EC” Brown, Jr, (Joanne) and Joseph Brown (Melissa).  David was very involved with family, especially enjoying his three nephews and one niece.

David was a unique man who marched to his own drummer.  He worked as a truck driver for many years and ran his own lawn care and excavating business (DRB Enterprises). He was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and verbal sparring with others. David enjoyed classic motorcycles and old movies.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held in West End Cemetery in Wytheville, VA on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 am.
