David Wayne Shelton

David Wayne Shelton, 77, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024. He was born in Caswell County, NC on August 12, 1946 to the late Ellie Ethel Everhart Shelton and the late John William Shelton. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Mattox Shelton.

David was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked for many years as the owner operator of Shelton Well Drilling Company before his retirement.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by a daughter; Daphine Moore of Ringgold, VA; a son; David Michael Shelton and wife Candice of Pelham, NC; a sister; Ruth Shelton Smith; five grandchildren; Jason Shelton (Brooklynn), Brooke Butts (Brandon), Kayla Hackworth (Josh), Wyatt Moore (Connie) and Adam Shelton; and three great grandchildren; Riley Butts, Hanna Hackworth, and Carter Butts.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his first wife; Deborah Reid Shelton, a sister; Barbara Jean Shelton; and four brothers; Johnny, Buddy, Neal, and Phil Shelton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 3:00pm at Liberty Baptist Church, 18529 Franklin Turnpike, Callands, VA with Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 1:30-2:30pm, and at other times at the residence.
