Dean Dewalt Goode

Dean Dewalt Goode, 65, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Shorter Goode, and numerous other special family members who welcomed him home.He was a loving husband and showered his son and granddaughters with patient care every day. Dean devoted more than 45 years of dedicated service to Mohawk, where he worked his way up through the company and built lasting relationships with coworkers he truly enjoyed. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, Dean found joy in helping others and was rarely idle—always “fiddling” with a project or finding a way to lend a hand. A decorated Eagle Scout, Dean carried the values of service, leadership, and integrity throughout his life, quietly using his skills to support family, friends, and community whenever he could. He enjoyed the outdoors, the satisfaction of hard work on a job well done, steak on the grill, and homemade eggnog.He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tamara Harrison Goode; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jesica Lotts; his cherished granddaughters, Leighauna and Nora Lotts; and numerous other family members who will miss him dearly.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
