Dean Eldon Martin

Dean Eldon Martin, 71, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Waddell Nursing Home and Rehab in Galax, VA.

He was born October 22,1953 in Martinsville, VA to the late Lewis Terry Martin and the late Goldie Hollandsworth Martin. Dean was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Lee Martin and James William “Bill” Martin.

Dean is survived by his sister, Ginger Dawn Martin of the home and two sons, Joshua Adam Martin (Faith) of Martinsville and Wesley Andrew Martin (McKenzie) of Rocky Mount, Va, a sister-in-law, Brenda Martin of Lynchburg, special family friend, Martha Fleenor, and his beloved Beagle, Sally.

Dean was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and football (Steelers and Hokies); as well as NASCAR (Harry Gant and Matt Kenseth). He also enjoyed bluegrass music.

He retired from Hanes Brands in Woolwine, VA where he was employed as a warehouse supply clerk.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 2:00pm at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Pastor Clyde Murray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Dean will be interred at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Martinsville VA.
