Dean Roger Thompson

Dean Roger Thompson, 84, of Goodview, Virginia passed away this past Thursday (May 30, 2024) after a long battle with cancer. At Rogers request, there will be no services. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Montague Thompson and Thelma Marie Jones Thompson. He was the last of 15 siblings.

Surviving are his two children, Mark Osborne and Carla Penden and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Roger served in the United States Army and served in Korea. Then lived on the coast of Virginia and North Carolina, where he was a pipefitter/welder working on many of our country’s submarines and aircraft carriers. He also worked in New Jersey at Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plant. Roger owned his own business installing Sea Walls. He was an avid car/hotrod builder and was working on his 32 Ford Coupe that he was so proud of, in his las days.

Rogers friends were so many, which he loved and appreciated each and every day.
