Deborah G. Hamm

August 3, 1955 - May 23, 2025

Deborah G. Hamm, 69, wife of Joseph T. Hamm, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2025 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Alvie P. and Virginia Brickey Gray. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie – Jo Hamm; three sisters, Sandra Combs, Ann Beckner, and Jane Thomas.

She retired from Lewis Gale Medical Center after many years of dedicated service and she served as a volunteer at Garden City Elementary School. She dedicated her life to God, her family, and service to others. Deborah enjoyed fishing and being in the mountains, but her favorite thing was having all of family together at her house.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, Joseph T. Hamm, Sr., she will be missed and remembered by her children, Joseph Hamm, Jr. “Rufus” and his wife Amanda, Michael Hamm, Sr. “Mikey” and his wife Chrissy, Alex Hamm, Sr. “Fred”, Winston A. Hamm “Andy” and his wife Jenna, and Dixie Hamm-Compton and her husband Brandon; grandchildren, Eddie Hamm (Alexis Stevens), Brent Hamm (Baylee Morton), Alex Hamm, Jr., Brianna Clark and her husband Dylan, Logen Hamm, Taylor Hamm, Preslee Hamm, Delaney Compton, Mikey Hamm, Jr., Grady Hamm, Zach Conner, Jonathan Conner, and Dylan Conner; great-grandchildren, Avery Hamm, Axel Clark, and Danny Hamm; siblings, Peggy and Curtis Blankenship, Alvie “Beaver” Gray, and Sue Snellings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 2301 Roanoke Avenue SW, Roanoke, VA 24015 with Rev. Rebecca Wiseman officiating.
