Deborah June Semones Ayers

Deborah June Semones Ayers, 76, of Martinsville, VA passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Sovah Health-Martinsville. She was born January 18, 1948 in Wytheville, VA to the late Russell Howard Semones and Nellie Nixon Semones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Givens and infant brother, Russell Howard Semones, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Ayers; daughters, Sherrie Foley and Kathleen Martin (Dwayne); grandchildren, James Hylton (Calie), Christopher Hylton, Kaitlyn Sullivan, Brandon Hylton, Daniel Martin, and Krista Martin; great-granddaughter, Evelynn Hylton; sister, Glennadine Goldman; and brother, Guerry Semones.

Deborah was a clinical data analyst for a hospital. She also enjoyed genealogy and writing and was published in children’s magazines. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
