Deborah Louise Fulcher
Deborah Louise Fulcher, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, April 12th, 2025. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with those who dearly loved her. She was born July 7th, 1954, in Stuart to the late John Henry Lawson and Betty Wray Lawson.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Donald Eugene Fulcher; sons, Donald E. Fulcher Jr.(Tina) and David Wayne Fulcher; 9 grandchildren, Ashley Renee, Allen, Victoria, Kelsey, Sierra, Seth, Bella, Ashley Nicole and Brandi; sister, Valerie Brown; four nephews; and her 10 great-grandchildren; Bryant, Noah, Elijah, Aivree, Mavis, Jurnee, DJ, Ethan, Carson and Rowan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Lee Lawson; sister, Teresa Lawson; and her grandson, Christian.
Deborah was defined by her unwavering faith to her lord and savior and her love for her family. A pure heart and sweet soul who committed her life to helping and taking care of others. She grew up the oldest of 4 siblings which helped her to become the wonderful mother and grandmother she was most proud to be. Deborah married the love of her life, Donnie, at the age of 15 years old and they shared a happy and loving marriage for just under 55 years. She was the mother of two sons whom she loved dearly and unconditionally. She was the epitome of a faithful loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Deborah learned to play piano at the young age of twelve years old. She faithfully served her church as a piano player for 45 years. Deborah worked at Bassett Walker for 20 years followed by a 25-year career as a certified nursing assistant and medical technician. Deborah devoted her life to caring for others and spreading the love of Christ. She brought joy in every room she walked in and brought a smile to everyone’s face she met. She was a devout and faithful charter member of Northside Baptist Church for over 30 years and was beloved by her fellow members. Deborah was above the standard when it came to having faith in and loving her Savior with all her heart.
Other than her love for her Lord and Savior, Deborah loved nothing else more than her children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew Deborah knew she would do anything for her family. When it came to gifts, Deborah did not care about the material things, but instead, desired to see her family in church and serve the lord. Seeing her family follow her example by committing their life to Christ is what brought her true happiness. She was the anchor in her family and never ceased praying for them every day.
