Debra Ann Carr

Debra Ann Carr, 72, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, on December 31, 1952, to the late Willie I. Griffin and Julia Horne Griffin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Melissa McLemore.

She was of the Catholic faith and had a deep love for her family, especially for her grandchildren. Debra enjoyed trips to the beach, enjoying a good meal with dessert and Pepsi Cola. She was fond of the music of Stevie Nicks and was known for her love for her cats. Her physical presence on earth will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Angelia Naill (Craig Robinson) and Stephanie Blackburn; stepdaughter Aimee Demers (John); son, Patrick Blackburn (Jennifer); son-in-law, Daniel McLemore; sister, Glenda Moody; 17 grandchildren, Wayne Blackburn, Kristen Blackburn, Julia Naill (Timothy Spencer), Alissa Baity, Bella White, Lana White, Kelsie Blackburn, Hannah Blackburn, Lucas Blackburn, Shawn Blackburn, Hayleigh Johnson, Kylee Blackburn, Alexis Demers, Dylan Demers, Turner Demers, Ellie McLemore, Victoria Staples; one great-grandchild, Ryder; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the care and support shown during this time of grief.
